What is the Photo Clipping service? update: 8/26/24

'Clipping' is the process of removing the background of a photo and replacing it with another background. This allows dealers to avoid problems of weather or unattractive objects displaying behind their vehicle photos. There are currently 2 versions: manual Clipping, which is performed by 3rd party providers, and AI Clipping, which is currently in beta testing. One difference between the two is that the AI-clipped photos do not have the "hybrid" of the original ground/floor under the vehicle and the clipped background. Franchise � continue to order the clipping service through Custom Color Labels process on INSIGHT. Custom backgrounds ------------------------ Only one background per customer is available. Custom background templates are available through the design team. Custom backgrounds must be at least 800x600 pixels with maximum resolution. Also, provide background photo without vehicle images to streamline process. Photos --------- * Clipping service applies to the largest-sized image available for the photo, to improve photo resolution, including Super-size. * Overlays are not available for clipped photos. * Customers may process as many photos through the clipping service as desired. Processing large quantities of inventory or photos may result in delayed turnaround. Turnaround -------------- Our goal is to turnaround clipped photos in less than 24 hours. Due to the increased volume of photos being process through our clipping service, customers may experience a slight delay. Please allow 1-2 business days for completion. Note: inventory existing prior to the clipping service contract start date (old inventory) is not clipped automatically. If existing inventory should be clipped, it should be noted in the Notes section of the Clipping order or an email can be sent to ds-clipping@drivedominion.com.
