What is the "Buyers Guide - 2017" in VinMotion and how do we use it?
In 2017, the FTC updated their Buyers Guides to reflect new requirements and language. This new Buyers Guide in IVM is to simplify the Buyers Guide system so that a dealer does not need to re-design their Buyers Guides. A quick rundown: Buyers Guide Type: As-Is & Implied - these options are for the top box in the Buyers Guide. Buyers Guides will either say As-Is - No Dealer Warranty or Implied Warranties only at the top. Different states require one of the other, the dealer or rep should know their state requirements. Support does not. Dealer - this selects the Dealer Warranties option below As-Is or Implied Warranties Only. Paper: No Background - prints just the text. This is if the dealer is printing on pre-printed buyers guides. Paper - prints the background and the text. Does not print the back of the buyers guide. Paper w/ Back - prints the front and back side of the buyers guide with full text. Buyers guides are two sided. Language: English - prints the buyers guide in English Spanish - prints the buyers guide in Spanish Full or Limited Warranty Becomes active for changes only if Dealer is checked under "Buyers Guide Type" The dealer should know what they are offering. Systems Covered & Duration If checked this will autopopulate the information contained in the warranty for the vehicle. To check vehicle warranty Systems Covered and Duration go to IVM ---> Settings ---> Warranties. Non-Dealer Warranties Manufacturer's Warranty Still Applies - usually used for Balance of Factory Manufacturer's Used Vehicle Warranty Applies - usually used for Certified vehicles Other Used Vehicle Warranty Applies - other warranties the vehicle may have (such as third party warranties) Service Contract - whether the dealership offers a service contract
