Toner is smearing or flaking off labels

This is usually termperature-related. If the printer is too cold or over heated, it will keep the ink from adhering to the labels. If the printer is cold, allow more time for it to warm up. If it's hot, take it to a cooler spot (don't let it sit in the sun). It can help to take it into the dealership building and print from there. If temperature doesn't seem to be the problem, try removing the toner cartridge, shaking it, then putting it back. Long, thin cables can keep printers from warming up properly. Switching to shorter, thicker cables can help.
