StoryBuilder FAQs
1. If I change the comments then rebuild the story will the story rebuild? - When you order storybuilder the default overrides become Inventory Primary, 3PP secondary. - If you edit a comment in the backend the comment field will lock and story will not update. Rebuilding the story will not unlock this field. - If the comment field is locked, you will need to send a request to support to clear overrides from IVM before the story will update from Storybuilder. - When story builder is ordered you will see that story builder is ordered by the comments field to remind you that story builder is managing comments. ....................................................................................................... 2. Is there a limit to the number of options or data that will show up in the comments is there a specific length the story builder is working to get for the comments? -We have a preset length - 2000 characters - to align not only with our adwriter comments distribution feed - but also how many of the common endpoints accept the comments (i.e. cars.com, ATC.com, etc.) ....................................................................................................... 3. What if we have vin decoded options but I have not been out to the lot to double check the options, I have some customers who are very concerned about the accuracy of their options how can we make sure that incorrect options are not added to the story? - StoryBuilder is not able to know if the option set is correct or not, you may turn off vin decoded options for these customers and only add options when you service the lot. - For DIY dealerships they will need to double check their options. If they do not want options added via decoding they can add their options via mapping and then double check the options. ........................................................................................................ 4. In Autostick and IVM there are multiple choices for the same option IE leather interior or tinted windows. Will, for example, leather upholstery, leather seats, leather interior all be recognized as the vehicle having leather? - StoryBuilder tool should recognize all the available instances of the same option as the vehicle having that option. However, we run into trouble if the field is using generic values. These do not push the specific high value items back into IVM. We are currently aligning all Vin Decoding tools and process among the products to correct and provide better service to our dealers. ....................................................................................................... 5. How does the story builder choose what options to include? - The story builder now recognizes over 200+ options, these options are prioritised and higher value options will be added to the story first. ....................................................................................................... 6. Will rebuilding the story get me completely different options, automotive review content etc? Can we be sure it wont send the same comment again? - It depends. Some vehicles will have lots of additional data points, reviews, etc...so if we have additional information on that vehicle, it will give new options. The regenerate will of course supply new narrative to help the story flow. The more specific the information we know about the vehicle, the better content and data points we can include in the stories. ........................................................................................................ 7. How do we submit automotive review content we happen to find that we consider negative? - Negative review content is very subjective. If you find something, please send it to Jen Ryan (jennifer.ryan@drivedominion.com) - specifically with an example and the line highlighted that is in question.
