My stock photos are the wrong color.
This is how color matching for Stock Photos works: - Approximate vs Exact matching has nothing to do with colors. Color is not any part of that evaluation. We should avoid telling callers to use approximate or exact match for a better chance at color-matched stock photos, as it has no definite effect. Also, some dealers can face compliance issues for using approximate match. - We must be able to decode the VIN first before being able to attempt color-matching the stock photos. - We will first check for a color code in the polling file. If there is a color code it will be very likely that we can color-match the stock photos. It is possible we won't be able to color-match the stock photos at this point, either because there is no color code, or we can't find a match for the color code that is there. - Next we will look to the Exterior Color text field in the polling file. That can be tricky because the color name needs to match an available color name within the VIN decode data. If the name doesn't match, or has some random characters in it, the stock photo tool may not be able to determine the correct color. - It's recommended that dealers wanting color-matched stock photos enter color codes in their DMS, and make sure that's mapped to the StndColorCode field of the polling file. If that isn't possible, they should make sure to use the exact manufacturer's exterior color names in their DMS.
