How do I remove overlays from photos?
1) Ensure that the overlay is actually an overlay and not clipping. If it is an overlay associated with clipping, escalate the vehicles to a team lead for clipping removal. If its an overlay then... 2) Check to see how the overlay is being applied. If it was applied via AutoStik or a one time application in IVM, proceed to step 3. If it is being applied by an existing rule in IVM this rule will need to be disabled prior to proceeding. Note: if a vehicle is being excluded from an existing rule going forwards you will still need to disable the rule, make the rule modifications and then reapply the rule to all other vehicles. Note 2: on Pro and Lite packages, IVM will normally attempt to remove the overlays automatically when the rule is disabled. Do not rely on this process, however, and still proceed to step 3. 3) Verify the vehicle has clean supersized photos (as in supersized images without an overlay on them). If there are no supersized photos or the supersized photos have overlays on them proceed to step 5. 4) Go into IVM, go to the vehicle listings page, check the box next to the vehicles that need to have the overlay removed. Next mouse over Actions and click Remove Photo Overlays. This process takes the supersized photo, resizes it and replaces the existing showcase photo. Note: this will remove the overlays for all of the photos at once. 5) If the vehicle was uploaded by the rep, check to see if the rep has a backup on his or her laptop or if they have created a remote backup. Overlays are not kept on remote backups. If they have backups on their computer, or have kept remote backups on the server, have them release photo control in IVM (Vehicle Listings Page, select the required vehicles and go Actions ---> Release Photo Control) and then Re-link and reupload the photos. Before doing so, make sure the rep is not going to re-apply the overlay through AutoStik.
