How do I configure a rep's e-mail?
Configuring Email Not all computers utilize the same email �client�. If your computer does not have MICROSOFT OUTLOOK 2003 on it, you will be utilizing Outlook Express. Skim below until you find the HOW TO SETUP OUTLOOK EXPRESS instructions. 1. Microsoft Outlook 2003 2. Outlook Express How to Setup Microsoft Outlook 2003 If there is a yellow EMAIL icon on your desktop, your computer has Microsoft Office 2003 installed. 1. Double Click the EMAIL icon on the desktop 2. Click CANCEL when the following window pops up 3. Click CANCEL ALL when the following window pops up 4. Go to TOOLS and select EMAIL ACCOUNTS 5. Select VIEW OR CHANGE EXISTING E-MAIL ACCOUNTS 6. CLICK NEXT 7. Click CHANGE and the following window should appear 8. Type YOUR NAME in the your name box a. As an example we used John Doe 9. Type your E-Mail Address in the E-Mail Address box a. Be sure it is all lower case b. Be sure to include a dot between your first name and your last name c. Example is john.doe@getauto.com 10. In the USER NAME box, type your email address in all lower case a. Example is john.doe@getauto.com 11. DO NOT type anything in the password box. The password will automatically be synchronized when you try to send/receive for the first time. 12. The window should now look like this: 13. Click MORE SETTINGS 14. Delete
and type your name a. Example is John Doe 15. Click the OUTGOING SERVER tab 16. Put a check mark in the box next to MY OUTGOING SERVER (SMTP) REQUIRES AUTHENTICATION 17. Click the ADVANCED TAB a. Put a check mark next to LEAVE COPY OF MESSAGES ON THE SERVER b. Put a check mark in the two boxes below c. Change the 5 Days to 21 18. Click OK 19. Click NEXT 20. Click FINISH 21. Go to FILE and select EXIT 22. Double click the email icon 23. If you have an active internet connection, Outlook should begin to send and receive automatically a. Click the Send/Receive button if it doesn�t b. If you get a password screen, your email account may not be setup yet (See picture below) c. Contact Dealer Specialites, Inc. Do not forget to put a . between your first name and last name 10. Click NEXT 11. In the INCOMING MAIL line, type mailbox.vehicledata.com 12. in the OUTGOING MAIL line, type mailbox.vehicledata.com 13. Click NEXT 14. In the ACCOUNT NAME line, type your email address a. Ashley.Koreman@getauto.com 15. In the password box type �dsemail� (without the quotes) 16. Click NEXT 17. Click FINISH 18. Click CLOSE 19. Click TOOLS 20. Select OPTIONS 21. UNCHECK Automatically log on to Windows Messenger 22. Place a checkmark in WHEN STARTING, GO DIRECTLY TO MY �INBOX� FOLDER 23. UNCHECK Notify me if there are any new newsgroups 24. Click the SECURITY TAB 25. UNCHECK Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus 26. Click APPLY 27. Click OK 28. Go to TOOLS 29. Select ACCOUNTS 30. Click ONCE on the email account with your name on it a. Example: PATRICK SEIFER b. Click PROPERTIES 30. Click the SERVERS tab at the top of the window 31. Put a check mark in the box next to box MY SERVER REQUIRES AUTHENTICATION 32. Click APPLY 33. Click OK 34. Click CLOSE 35. Close out of Outlook Express and then reopen it. You should now be able to send/receive emails 36. Click SEND./RECV at the top of the screen 37. Your email should now start appearing on your screen a. If it doesn�t, close the program and reboot the computer. b.
