Dealer wants clipping on some photos, overlays on others. How do we go about doing this?
If you apply an overlay rule in IVM, clipping will not touch the vehicle going forwards unless we manually request it. As such, applying an overlay rule in IVM is never a good idea for clipping dealerships. This goes for any other manual edits to photos done in IVM unless DIY clipping is turned on (i.e. switching photo order). The best option is to add the overlay to the extra photos in AutoStik (for example, if a dealership wants photo 1 clipped but all other photos to have an overlay, apply the overlay to all other photos via AutoStik). This will ensure that no manual edits are done in IVM. Edit: if offering this option, please discourage the rep from applying the overlay to supersized photos as they will not be able to be removed in the future. If the rep is not uploading the photos themselves, or otherwise does not want to apply the overlay via IVM: 1) Once clipping has been applied the dealer or rep can manually add the overlay to the photos in IVM by clicking on the vehicle, selecting the photos, hitting Edit and then manually adding the overlay. 2) Create an overlay rule in IVM that is set for specific VINs only. Once a vehicle has been clipped, add the VIN to the rule. Either IVM option may cause problems going forwards if the dealer wishes to change their clipping.
