Carfax Data Not Updating for Dominion Websites
We have a tool that queries a Carfax file to update Solr for Dominion Websites (Adaptive Websites) with information. Many Dominion websites have small labels on them, much like Powerlinks, that include information on the Carfax report (a normal Carfax label or a one vehicle owner label). While these labels are on Dominion websites they are actually controlled by a background process on the Dealer Specialties end. This background process is unrelated to our Carfax information in IVM or dynamic window labels so whether the dealer is signed up for either on our end is irrelevant. There is a background process that queries VINs in Carfax data and produces some indicators (such as 1 vehicle) and puts the data into Solr. Solr is the vehicle information cache that websites draws off of. We are able to check Solr and what is currently in it. If you are unfamiliar with how to access please speak to a team lead if an issue arises. Additionally we would check Solr for any vehicle information such as price, description, trim, etc. If there is an issue with the correct Carfax logo not appearing on a vehicle (namely 1 Owner Vehicle) first you should check to make sure Carfax actually has the vehicle as one owner. The way to do that is to pull a Carfax report. See a team lead if you have any questions on how to do this. If the vehicle is one owner, check the list of Adaptive information on Solr to make sure the information is indicated correctly. If the Carfax information such as 1 Owner Vehicle is not marked in the SolrMaster list or there is a red X next to it we will need to do a Solr refresh. Solr refreshes need to be escalated.
